My work stems from the recollection of encounters I have with seemingly ordinary structures, spaces, and objects in my daily life. I experience moments of clarity in those different situations, moments of both stimulation and provocation. Through exploring reoccurring forms, lines, shadows, patterns, materials, and compositions that I am attracted to, I am on a constant quest to replicate the sensations I experience.
In my studio investigations, I create abstract drawings, ceramic objects, and reinterpretations of drawn imagery in various materials. The compilations of created pieces are placed in installations that aim to stimulate memory of familiar spaces. These environments evoke curiosity to viewers and are suggestive to encounter ones’ daily surroundings with a similar contemplation.
